Coronavirus Disease (COVID-2019) R&D

On December 31, 2019, the WHO was informed of a group of cases of unknown cause pneumonia detected in Wuhan City, Hubei Province of China. Coronavirus disease (COVID-2019) was identified as the virus causing by Chinese authorities on January 7. As part of the WHO response to the outbreak, the R&D Plan has been activated to accelerate the diagnosis, vaccines and therapeutics of this new coronavirus.
